Lewes does seem to have its share of Chemist shops. Could we do with another - regular clientele here for sure. Which is the best service provider and which has the worst attitude in customer service ? Is it against the law to buy Asprin AND Corn Plasters or will the Civil |Enforcement Officer be called ? I know which one I am talking about anyone else agree ?

The chemists in Western Road is excellent - always helpful. Can't comment about Bakers - whenever I go in there at lunchtime (the only time I can get down there during the week) the pharmacist has always buggered off to lunch so I can't get my prescription!

Boots is surely the worst. Has anyone else noticed that at the pharmacy counter they have that habit of looking down so they don't have to catch your eye when you're trying to get a prescription? And hiding round the back pretending they don't know they're there. The staff there seem the unhappiest in any shop in Lewes.

I used to use Boots. Always a long queue due to the slowness. Always had trouble finding my prescription. I gave up.
I discovered St Annes Pharmacy. Much nicer all round and so helpful.

I agree, Boots are terrible. Sometimes up to six people behind the area, all looking other way! Long queues form, still they go on a go slow. In one instance I took in a prescription as shop opened. Went back 10.30ish having been told 10 to 15 minutes,,no done! Since the lovely gent who used to run it like clock work retired(or left)the service leaves a great deal to be desired. By far the politest, most efficient is St Annes.

Boots a no no. Always seemed to me that one was a nuisance and WHO was going to serve you!In my opinion, far too many behind the counter, not enough wanting to actually serve the public.Chaos! Not even a smile. Go where a welcome is given. A little further away it"s true, but worth the effort.

what's the point it only serves as a modern box ticking exercise to say "we have consulted our public of their opinions" they don't run their business by them or they'd pay their taxes so an ambulence driver could keep their job

Another vote for St Annes. They are helpful and friendly and the service is excellent. The pharmacist at Boots seems to be at lunch whenever I go in there. The people in Wyborns tend to be grumpy imo.
Bakers used to be good, but I haven't been in there for years because of the impossibility of parking anywhere nearby.

BAKERS get a very big Thankyou as they have been most helpful.
BOOTS get a very big wooden spoon, Wrong prescription included in bag, then somehow it was my fault ???. All of the above also a no no for BOOTS as well

Boots are terrible. I normally use Bakers if I'm in town (and don't need to worry about parking).
Yates was our local chemist when I was a kid - not may shops (or shop keepers) like that any more!

Could this possibly be an example of the private sector not being entirely perfect? From the media I assumed that all the lazy, workshy, unhelpful people worked in the public sector and the private sector only employed honest, hardworking dedicated people who would quiet happily work for no money beacuse they were such paragons of virtue and efficiency.
Any complaints about the Lewes Boots should got to the Alliance Boots Executive Chairman, Stefano Pessina, [email protected]
That should stir it up a bit.
