Hi, I'm trying to find the League tables for both Lewes men's and/or Women's first teams. Can anyone help? It's not exactly clear on their website.

Regretably, nothing is clear on their website anymore. Too much spin and not enough substance!
Pay parity my a*se - just another attempt by the luvvies to encourage ownership. Rant over.

Could you elaborate on the term 'luvvies'? What does this word mean? I keep seeing it. And do you not approve of encouraging ownership?

What is clear is that the clubs plan to get the womens football team in to the top tier has been blown apart today(if approved) as only clubs with full-time players will be able to compete in the top division. As we are going down the equality route that would surely mean that the mens team become full-time time too. I suggest you use NonLeagueMatters for the Lewes Fc Mens team and don't bother with the other Gimmick FC.

It's sad that a club run mostly by local volunteers tries to do the right thing morally and gets such vitriolic responses for its efforts. Go and support your millionaire backed clubs with its millionaire players and leave Lewes alone.

Here here jimmy Quinn. Great place to watch football and a team worth supporting. Some of the people running it have a knack for publicity and good luck to them.

If you are the real Jimmy Quinn you will understand that the club has lost of its volunteers over this pay parity issue. You will also be aware that the owners were denied a vote on the pay parity issue, which begs the question, what is the point of being an owner? You will also be aware that the "spin" regarding pay parity has resulted in approximately 60 new owners worldwide signing up, while "word on the street" is an even greater number of existing owners will not be renewing. You will also be aware that the anticipated "big sponsorship deal" on the back of pay parity has also failed to materialise.
I prefer a club based on substance, not spin!

No. Thought not.

Call me sexist if you like but I happily contribute to the mens 12th man scheme because that is the only income ring fenced for the mens team only. Any other fund raising etc from supporters club together with gate money goes into a central pot, and given the biggest gates are for the men's first team, it means the men are subsidising the ladies. I will be volunteering again once the balance is redressed.

Anyway... as a club owner and not a wind up artist - how do you find the league tables on the website?
Surely that would be one of the first things anyone would want to do.
Any help appreciated.

Why would the Club's Board bother putting proper football info on there? Far more important to fill it with PC nonsense that very very few fans care about

In response to TDAs request I've just had a look on the website and couldn't find a league table either. Presumably an oversight when they changed the site. If you go footballwebpages.co.uk and look up ishmian south you will find it and lots of other interesting pages there. I have decided not to stop supporting the rooks despite this appalling error on the part of whoever was good enough to provide a website in the first place. We are currently 5th.

Basically the women's team are a loss leader in the hope that a massive sponsorship deal will materialise. Now, what happens if the ladies get relegated and the men get promoted?

Footballman - I think it's been like that for years. I remember asking on here yonks ago.
When you go to a football team website all you really want to know is the league position, details of the next fixture, and the score of the last match.

It's probably an oversight by whoever set up the website. He/she can be forgiven though as they will be one of the volunteers who give up so much of their time to help out at the club and keep it going. Remember this is little old Lewes FC...... not Manchester United.

So to you ex volunteer, and any other owners not renewing, I say that you should be ashamed of yourselves for abandoning your club when it needs you most. A club is for life.

I respect your view Footie fan and admire the fans who move away and still travel hundreds of miles on a regular basis to go to 'home' games. Other football fans (like myself) take a more pragmatic view and allow themselves to support their local team as the circumstances of their life change and they move to new places. This is no less a legitimate viewpoint and they are no less football fans but they do get to see a lot more games at much greater convenience. If you live in Lewes and like watching football then get to the dripping pan. It really is a great place to watch football.

Rooks fan – if you volunteered you'd know all about the decline. And about the constant but usually fruitless search for new blood. And something about some of the reasons why.
There are only about 6 active members of the supporters club (who actually do any fundraising), and you can count for yourself the number of ex-Directors who stay involved after they 'retire' from the Board.

So ex volunteer, abandoning the club you once supported and sniping anonymously from a safe distance isnt going to help much is it? I'm with the guy above. You should be ashamed of yourself.

So Rooks fan, you don't volunteer then? If I'm right – and I'm fairly confident that I am – YOU couldn't "abandon" the Club, could you, because you haven't ever committed time and resources to help it function. Like the vast majority of the fans, and indeed Owners.
The model was worth trying, and therefore worth supporting via volunteering. But there's no law that says people like me (or my husband) must continue ad nauseum to do so, even when it's pretty damn clear that not enough people care enough to make the Club self-sufficient. And when Owners are taken for granted over big decisions, and not given a say.
So I invite you to get off your high-horse, and withdraw words like ashamed from your unnecessary comments about me.

Ermm.....No. And what pleasure do you get out of slagging off the club you once supported on a public website that has nothing to do with the club itself? Are you trying to put others off?

No to volunteering, or No to being less unpleasant? Both, I suspect...
Read my words again; there's no "slagging off", but merely pointing out a major error of judgement on a big decision to put PC over and above basic economic realities – one that, as a supposed community club, required buy-in from a majority of owners rather than just two sugar-daddies acting like they are sole owners. If, as some suggest, that nonsense is actually just a cynical attempt to cut their losses under the guide of PC, that's even worse for a community club.
Or simply questioning the competency of salaried staff.
Or putting a bit of realism into your mildly-myopic posts.
The fact that the club is trying to achieve very broad media coverage for their gimmick rather undermines your claim that this isn't a suitable forum for an exchange of views on the subject, just because it's not the club's own forum.
Oh, and who said we don't still support the men's team? We may not volunteer anymore, but you have no idea whether we have merely reverted to being fans like we were in the pre and early-Elliott days.
Probably like you are.
