Yes we felt exactly the same although I did feel that we got to see more of the other displays from where we stood that I am sure we can't normally see so that made up for it a bit. On another note - does any one else feel the event is being "organised" to death? Too many police being overly officious with no need - at one point we were told by one PC to "keep walking" Why I have absolutely no idea - there was nothing coming and only a few people around as the procession had finished. The CONSTANT bleating of that woman on the tannoy - ditto the man on the tannoy at Waterloo - Couldn't hear what he was saying but it is ruining the atmosphere of the event. I am aware they think they are doing this "for our own safety" but I tend to think a lot of large burning barrels will make most people move of their own volition.

I felt the same about Waterloo, they didnt seem to get going at all.
I think that the Police seemed to make things worse especially on Cliffe bridge did they need to stand on it and make people squeeze between them. Other than that had a good night, was nice to being as busy with people who dont understand what is going on

What a shame about the Quinns - I had no idea of the situation. It just goes to show these things can't happen without the input from some very dedicated people. What's the future look like for the Waterloo BS? Is no one able to take their place?
Can we do without the huge bill for the (mostly) unnecessary police and put the money into what it's really all about - fireworks, procession and British tradition.

There was one policewoman I saw several times throughout the evening. Every time I saw her she was throwing her weight about and lecturing the marchers who didn't seem to be doing anything wrong. I think we can do without that.
