Has anyone else noticed the pigeons in town lately? I may be wrong, but a few years ago i remember thinking that one of the many things that made Lewes wonderful was the fact that we didn't have pigeons, just doves and seagulls. I first noticed them at the station earlier in the summer, then at Tesco, now up at the prison. Have i got a rose tinted view of our avian past, or are the pigeons new?

Walking over Cliffe Bridge at 6:30 in the morning, there are bl**dy loads of 'em. And seagulls too. Pecking at the bins on the high street. Not checked 'em for rings yet. Will have a look tomorrow.

I have not had ANY birds in my garden for over three weeks now. Probably due to the twelve cats living within 50 foot of my garden. Hiss!

Its the bloody seagulls that are the problem.
Becoming resident due to people throwing bread out for the 'birds', which is great but there is no need in the summer. Barely a need for it in the winter these days.
We should be allowed to shoot the seaugulls.
