Those of using trains will be aware of the Southern reduced timetable.
Most of the day the Seaford Line has a half hourly interval train service.
Last Thursday I stumbled on a bit of nonsense.
I travelled on the 12 11 from Brighton to Lewes and was surprised that the train only went to Newhaven Harbour and not Seaford. Further research
when I got home showed after Newhaven Harbour the train goes back to
Brighton at 12 58 instead of starting Seaford.
This bit of nonsense creates a 1 hour gap in the service to and from Seaford and should anyone alight at Newhaven Harbour expecting some forward service to Seaford they will find the next shown departure to Seaford is 16 13 as off peak trains are not stopping at Newhaven Harbour

Yep I discovered that too having walked from Lewes to Seaford and just missed the 12:25 train home.
I wonder if the anomaly is to provide a path for one of the freight trains that run at that time of day?

On Thursday 15/07/21 there was another example of poor service provision.
On the 12 11 Brighton to Newhaven Harbour passengers for Seaford were
advised to change at Lewes. 12 28 at Lewes and Seaford people advised to remain on Platform 3.
At 12 40 announcement that 13 00 to Seaford cancelled no crew
Presume this was known earlier.
It appears no action taken by Southern operations people.
Nothing done to run the 12 11 from Brighton through to Seaford and back at 12 53
Result no service Lewes to Seaford between 12 00 and 13 30 and from
Seaford between 12 25 and 13 53
I keep complaining to Southern but nothing gets done
