lewes/brighton train service

Previously there was 6 trains each hour weekdays between Lewes and Brighton. For the last couple of months the train service was based on Saturday schedules with frequent trains . A revised timetable started
on 28/02/22 with fewer trains and gaps in the service. Last Thursday I travelled by train to Brighton and when we arrived at 10 20 there was a large number waiting to join the 10 30 departure with a train standing empty in Platform 7 . Doing some research I found the 10 11 Brighton to Seaford
and return withdrawn despite running for the last 2 months. This means there is no departure toward Lewes after the 09 41 until the 1030 which is a gap of 49 minutes instead of the previous 10 minute interval. Looking at the number of people waiting there is a great demand for those going to Falmer and Lewes. I don't think the service is based on any demand research just haphazard reductions.

Perhaps the operators can't afford the electricity any more

When you consider how long they kept a full but unnecessary service going during lockdown only to treat loyal customers like this when people are ready to go back on the trains it is very strange. Luckily the bus service is good and we can only expect more people will use that instead. Traffic problems can mean the timetable is more flexible but live bus times to your phone help overcome this. Buses also take you to the heart of towns. Maybe it isn't the age of the train after all and we can only expect a further run down of the train service.

Do you still think so Doug? The day webbo decides on what we can and cannot post beyond removing blatantly offensive or illegal posts is the last day I will even look at this. If I wanted a site where the admin decides what people can say and read I would go on Lewes present. I see that symes has managed to get the bland site he wanted by the way.
Please let me know if you still think you are being censored.
