Before the retune I had a perfect picture on all freeview channels. The channels are all now freezing and pixelating. I'm on Landport and get the signal from Heathfield. Anyone else having the same problem?

Try running your scart from your freeview box into your video or DVD player, then into your TV. This will give the signal a boost.
Have you re-tuned your Freeview box since the changeover? It's supposed to be done a few times over the switchover phases.

I'm on Nevill with aerial pointing towards Heathfield too. No problems here. Well impressed with the HD too.
As for Sky...... No thanks! If I couldn't get decent freeview I would take the freesat route.

I live in Winterbourne Close and only get a limited amount of Freeview TV channels but reception is good. I get all the BBC channels, ITV1 and +1, ITV2, Channel 4 and +1, Channel 5, More 4 and E4 and that's about it. I am not getting any HD channels. I understand that this is all I am likely to get as I come off the County Hall Transmitter. Can anybody confirm this please ?

I believe anyone receiving a signal from the County Hall or the Newhaven relay transmitters should get the 4 HD channels, but not many tellys will decode them as they use a new standard called DVD-T2 (I only found this out last night using Google!). You would probably need to get a set-top box. I have one from Humax that I bought last week, and it seems to work well.

Anyone who's aerial is pointed towards the Heathfield transmitter should get all available Freeview channels, including the 4 HD chanels (if you have a Freeview HD box or TV).
If your aerial points towards County Hall or Newhaven, then you will only receive Freeview Lite, which is about 18 channels. This is not going to change for the foreseeable future.
If you want more channels you have only 2 options: FreeSat (like Freeview, but with a dish instead of an aerial) or Sky.
Just to clarify, you need a FreeSat HD box or TV to pick up the 4 HD channels.

That's really helpful, Computer Guy. I'm glad I went with the Freesat option three years ago: the advice was that the Freeview options for us in Southover were limited, and that's just clarified why!

I agree the Freeview options are limited - we don't get the full set of channels on the relay transmitters that would be available from Heathfield - but I am getting the four HD channels through a standard aerial pointing down the Ouse towards Newhaven.
If you click on the link below and enter your postcode, then click on the "channels available at your address" option, it will tell you what you ought to be getting. If you receive a signal from either the Newhaven or the Lewes relay transmitter then you should receive 16 standard definition and 4 high definition channels plus a number of radio stations. But you will need a Freeview HD box or telly to decode the HD channels.

We seem to have all the channels ok, but both TVs now have irritating sound interference on BBC1.
Any suggestions for fixing this?
