Hi
Am thinking of moving my young family to lewes from london. Would need to commute to London Bridge - any advice on what this is like? Lewes seems like the perfect place for us - seems to have plenty going on and a bit of soul to it.
Just need to figure out if the commute is do-able...
Cheers
Nick

You serious? Another DFL? Stay in London - young children get eaten by the locals down here.

It's a doddle Nick, takes 25 mins tops, season ticket just under a grand. Free parking at the station too!

hi nick. Ignore the trolls, hazard of hanging around in this forum. I understand there is a direct London bridge train laid on in the morning, but most go to Victoria. Not sure on return leg. Loadsa commuters here in Lewes too. Not my cup of tea, but I suppose it shows that it is possible. No free parking at station, but Lewes is pretty small and its a short walk from most residential areas to the train Lewes is ace-you and your family will love it!

Thanks William - relaised this forum wasnt the place to ask this when I saw al the DFL stuff on a different thread, bit sad really. Anyway, we already know a bit about Lewes (wife is from Sussex) and a bit of banter from a few forum trolls is unlikely to put us off the town. All the best

Ignore the inbreds. They think it's a good thing to marry their sisters and never go further than ringmer. They're quite easy to avoid if you steer clear of the further suburbs. Good luck and welcome

I have been commuting for over 30 years to London. First from Eastbourne, and now from Plumpton (2 stops up the line from lewes). You either love it or hate it! Journey time for me is approx 1hr door to door. Trains are fairly reliable, the odd minute late and the serious but rare (say once or twice a year) 2 hour + delay.

At least most DFLs can spell. It's bane old chap.
Most trains in the morning go to London Bridge actually - a bit of a bugger if you're trying to get to Victoria.

no more please, its starting to get too busy, This morning i couldnt spread out my array of techie gadgets as other people were competing for my space. Just not on. Best aim for the old Gatwick Express rolling stock - very comfortable although the doors do have a hibit of getting stuck - which is a blow
