just love the change of traffic flow priority in Commercial Square - with NO advance notification that the junction would be changed or indeed advance warning signs that it has - brilliant council, absolutely brilliant

Until recently I used to live in Fisher St. and could never understand why the traffic from the Offham Rd had priority.
It's a shame that the council didn't let anyone know what was happening but this will surely improve the traffic flow in the town and the air quality in Fisher St (currently the worst in East Sussex).

There has been an air quality testing device by the Police station for a while. This change may be, in part, a means to improve things.

Agreed Musher - but you can bet your bottom dollar its only temporary while Market stret being re-surfaced to speed up traffic flow out of Fisher street - certainly introduces queus back towards Weald Close along Offham Road in mornings - loads try to short-cut up the side of the paddock - and find THAT shut too now (Ireland's Lane) - as I say brilliant planning council absobloodylutely brilliant

There are air testing devices in Fisher Street too although I don't know if anyone ever reads them - I suspect it's more a token gesture.
Highways has to be one of the most inefficient departments in the county council

I think its only fair that Offam Road should sit in queues like every other road in town! I guess once upon a time Fisher Street was two way? So one could toddle into town turn right at Commercial Square across the High Street and down to the Station? I can though remember a time when traffic was sent down School Hill then along Cliffe High street when Market Street was closed before. Great fun on a pedal bike. I think we should have weekly change of priorities just makes things more interesting...
