Good Morning all. I have returned PM from Calais to find out if the situation has improved so we may use this route again, I am sad to say that it has got worse, the smuggling gangs are now controlling the refugees?? they are vicious and frequent fights break out between ethnic groups of smugglers, to get to the vehicles on their way to the ferry terminal. Please please be very vigilant if you use this route home. The Police will do little to help you if you are approached,so keep safe please.

I should have added that I was offered a deal by a top smuggler that for twenty thousand pounds none of the vehicles of my company would be damaged or have illegal immigrants on them, this of course was NOT a one off payment, further demands would follow..

Thank you Trooper for your good advice which I am sure has nothing at all to do with whipping up anti immigrant hatred because you don`t have any history of doing that do you chum?

3.37am, that's the when all the best thinkers are awake no doubt, honing their persuasive skills. Trooper I imagine will be asleep because he has to work for a living and when criminals attack his workers it is a worry to him. I suppose that makes him a terrible bigot to the SJWs.

I've always made it a policy to ignore the ravings of people who use expressions like 'so keep safe' or 'be careful out there'. Drama queens. all of them

Clifford you haven't ignored it have you. Infact you have replied to it you fool. What is wrong with trooper trying to help keep us safe? After all, he/she has intimate knowledge of the frightening situation over there.....unlike you!!

Why bother with the hassle of Calais-Dover when you have the Newhaven-Dieppe route on your doorstep? There are one or two hopeful individuals hanging around the port, but (yet) no organised encampment and attendant people smugglers

Newhaven is the choice for holidaying/ day trips but the Chunnel must be the most cost effective for road transport / haulage. Thank you Trooper for your updates.

Have a nice day.
I actually agree with Clifford on this one.
People I know & love make me cringe when they say that, or ‘drive safely’, ‘look after yourself’, that sort of thing.
I always give them a double take and say “look after myself?...... wha?...... Well now you mention it that’s a really good piece of advice, I hadn’t thought of that, thanks for telling me”
