Paul Clark's shop has now had 2 objects fired at his shop window by catapult. The window has to be replaced. When will the moron's realise that they hurt no one but the people paying insurance premiums in the Town?
Do the silent, bloodless people who commit these reptilian acts ever achieve anything with their lives?. Do they have any concept of the hard work ethic, any inner resource that tells them what they are doing is pathetic and weak?
At least 8 windows have gone in now and the police do not even turn up to chat with the homeowner.
If anyone has information leading to the arrest and prosecution of this person I will pay them £1000. Text me on 07774591040 in confidence with a name and address and I will pass it on to the police.

I don't know Paul Clark's shop. What does he sell? And does anyone have an idea why someone might hate him enough to smash his window twice?
Come to that, who is David Hall? I'm feeling particulary uninformed today.

I reported my damaged window an nothing was done at all, by the police.
Why isn't there a camera at the far end of the high street? It would also deter the speed freaks who go through there at night like demented arseholes.........

Good luck in receiving information about the perpetrator David.
There have been reports of some of the undesirables of Lewes practising with professional sized catapults, so I wonder if this is connected?
I hope the police are able to catch (and charge) the window smashers

I agree something needs to be done about all this mindless criminal damage in the town, I hardly ever see a policeman in the town, just the occassional police car racing by (on its way out of town towards Brighton. )Several windows have been smashed recently, Fox's estate agents, Cafe Nero's, Bratts childrens clothes shop, the freemasons hall in the high street has had its windows smashed twice in the last 6 months. The windows seem to be broken during the early hours of the morning. Police dont seem to want to know unless they have a witness.

It is a shame that the police do not seem to be able to access the myriad of cameras in the town to assist them in solving crime. That is what the police are for isn't it?

My parents are actually moving out of town now after having their car vandalised one too many times. I think the police did turn up to take a statement but that's as far as it went, they didn't for example think to have an officer waiting anywhere near the street where cars get vandalised pretty much every Friday night.
That said, there were loads of police cars around at about ten last night when I was driving home, I saw one up by the Black Horse and two more down by Tesco. Whether that's an indication that they're patrolling more or if it was just shift change time I couldn't say but they were normal police rather than traffic cops (Traffic police have a wider light bar on the top so you can see their lights round the side of lorries).

The cameras have some small deterrent effect but almost no value in solving crime, given the quality of image etc. One, admittedly radical, idea would be to have a police officer or two actually walking around Lewes at certain times.

what is a 'police officer' ? I always have to deal with a mysterious yellow phone attached to the outside of the locked police station. The lights are on in there at night, but there doesn't seem to be anyone home.
