and why did they allow it to continue into rush hour with temporary lights up.....Madness
Earwig corner will always be like that if there's an accident.

There should be a roundabout at earwig corner................. and the person in charge of the tree cutting (presumably a man) should have his testicles roasted over an open fire.

Yes.... But I'm assuming the council get their workers to do these jobs at certain times (tree cutting not car crashing!). Why work them through rush hour?
Last week I got stuck on a C road behind a Council Grass cutter during rush hour, and No he didn't pull into 1 layby for the 7 miles to let the queue of traffic behind him by.

I got stuck in that lot too as i had to "pop" over to chailey at 6pm.
Why they couldn't do it on a sunday or during off peak times is totally beyond me

Its a bit like the people who think its a good idea to ride their race horses around the Neville estate during the morning rush hour with their noses in the air - expecting all the cars to get out of their way because they are obviously superior to us mere mortals, or wait for ages whilst they walk all the way down the middle of the road completely oblivious it seems to the queue of cars building up behind them, and then not even bother to acknowledge that the car drivers have had to wait. Then if their precious horses hears a car engine and start jumping around all over the road you just get a filthy look. There is a large area of downs (including a racecourse) just behind the Neville estate, and even if they do have to walk on the roads to get here, at least have the sense to wait half an hour until after the rush hour, especially if their horses are so highly strung they react in such a way to cars !. There, thats got that off my chest, nothing to do with the original post but it has been annoying me for ages.
