Continuing the earlier thread, Norman has become a changed man since he was made a Junior Transport Minister and, by all accounts, he has done a reasonable job for the Coalition. However he is the same bloke at heart even though he has earned himself an added value pension having been a Junior Minister. Since 1997, he has changed very little for Lewes but that is difficult for an MP who has always been permanently in opposition. He has wasted £1m+ of Taxpayers money with the enormous quantity of Written Questions he has placed to Ministers and many of these were connected with his Dr David Kelly passion. He used privileged answers to his Ministerial Questions towards his research for a book he wrote about the demise of Dr Kelly. Norman told his constituents that he was going to take time out from his Constituency work to write his book about Dr Kelly. This was a disgrace and it yielded well over £100k for him in his back pocket. There have been questionable issues about his expenses and other behaviour and so my conclusion is that he may not be fit for purpose at the next General Election. Time now for him to proceed to the Departure Lounge!

I didn't vote for Norman and I'm by no means a fan, but I just can't be doing with trolls who lie to gain attention.

'He has wasted £1m+ of Taxpayers money with the enormous quantity of Written Questions'
How in God's name does one waste a million quid on written questions? You say 'many of these were connected with his Dr David Kelly passion'. So are you saying a responsible MP should never ask written questions? You must want Tufton Beamish back.

'This was a disgrace and it yielded well over £100k for him in his back pocket.' Utter gibberish. I know a number of authors who have written books which sold infinitely better than Norman's book and they didn't even get close to 10k. Is he Dan Brown all of a sudden?

That's the trouble with internet fora really. Too little rational debate and too many nutters licking the screen and dribbling on the keyboard.

The use of the word 'fora' certainly takes this forum to unaccustomed gramattical altitudes. Bravo.

Well, if you heard the 7 o'clock news this morning, Norm may well be one ofthe 79% of MPs polled as incompetent by the general public in a recent survey. There again, he may not be. But how do we measure their performance, they always seem to be a law unto themselves. The report outlining the public's distrust in MPs can be found here -
