Coud someone tell me who exactly Martin Elliott is blaming this week for his financial woes? Apparently anyone prepared to considering rescuing him from his financial ineptitude aren't doing it quickly enough for His Lordship.

Well that's good news. Glad to hear he is drowning his sorrows, with his riches. He shouldn't need to sell the club now.

Popped down the Pan yesterday to see yet another dismal display. A bucket got passed around for the 'help mend the score board' fund. Not that the Lewes strikers will ever notice whether it works.

A little fairness here is called for. One has to take into account Lewes is a team of which the vast majority are part timers and kids. They were playing against a full time professional team consisting of players earning up to ten times as much as their Lewes counterparts.
All things considered, they did OK.

It strikes me (if you will excuse the pun) that Mr Elliot'sattitude towards Lewes football club, is a little like his attitude towards architecture in Lewes. He likes to throw money at large flashy projects that the moment and attract a certain amount of success. Then time passes, things change, and a complete lack of thought about the long term implications of what he has been doing is revealed, and what looked to some like a goose laying golden eggs turns out to be a toxic turkey.
I see that not only is Mr Elliot's footballing interests up for sale, but also 'The Avenue', and now the 'HQ' 'public' gallery that no-one except Mr Elliot and LDC wanted in the first place. So now instead of a patch of grass and a tree that everyone could use, we are left with an unloved, unusable building, that has to be sold.
PS. To be clear, Rookie, I don't think anyone has anything but sympathy for the team, and fans, as a certain 'developer' (if we can still call it that) seems to have forgotton that fans, and players are what make a great small town club.
