I seem to have lost half the chanels on my digi box...I'm assuming it's got something to do with the wind.Anyone else got this problem tonight??

Thanks Dunk, but that was the first thing I did.And I retuned all the channels on the main menu. This morning it is no different, just retuned again.Where I live is high up and exposed and the wind certainly was awful yesterday...The only one I missed was Film 4.Still,at least my lappy signal is ok.Touch wood,it hasn't missed a beat since I got it last June.I have never had a connection problem.

Well Zola if you read half the post's on here its very logicial
Prob those kids from laport have stolen them! in retaliation of something the kids from Nevil have done but as a guess sitting in a boot of a chaved up car on Nevil green
or the more sneaky option is Lewes District council have made the tv transmiters remove them as they break planning laws somehow.
hope this goes someway to clearing up this matter.

Who are these chavs that have invaded a house in a certain road up the Nevil???

I'm confused.I have asked a few neighbours who I know have freeview whether they are getting a signal, and they said it was iffy the other night when the weather was extra bad,but it's ok now.Mine has still lost half its channels...
I have a spare freeview box,i plugged that in and the same thing happened,so it isn't my box...Short of calling someone out, does anyone have any ideas on what it may be? I have a shared arial,i know no more than that.

Hi Zola i'd hoped my light hearted message would have resolved it. so not in boot of car then???
Well as a guess your ariel has moved or is damaged??
you only need to be a few MM out to loose signal which would mean losing some or all of your channels.
if this is the case you prob have some pixelation on screen ie sound or pic freezes for milisecond and you get blocks of image that freeze.
if two freeview boxs dont work id guess its your ariel, cable or both..
do any houses nearby have freeview ??
do they still get all the channels???
if so is there ariel pointing in same direction as yours
as i believe freeview in Lewes is from Heathfield.
if this is all correct as i guess it is as my friend in Nevill has all channels.
he had a problem with his loft mounted ariel he got no channels then he added a ariel booster from home base for £15 hey presto all channels.
just by adding the booster might be enough to get the chanels back
prob less expensive than a new ariel cable and fitting etc

Thanks for replying LL.
Quite a few where I live share the same arial. And I have checked and they are all (now) ok.As I said the weather caused problems, but the only one left with problems is me.I have now been on a few websites with freeview troubleshooting guides and all that you have covered were there.Water damage, dish misalignment and buying a booster....But all my arial sharees are ok...Strange eh.
I keep re-installing,and no channels are added.I'm not that bothered really,i can access programmes on my lappy, but I would like my channels back. This has happened before, when we all lost our channels, and something had tripped.Guy came and fixed it,and explained what to do if it happened again.I checked, and it hadn't.Thanks anyway.

Hi Zola mmm
If both your freeview boxs dont work in your home it could be as simple as the lead from the wall (i guess you have a socket on the wall) if it was even slightly broken you would get same symptons.
try your box in someones elses home including any ariel leads and see if the problem persists. if it works it has to be your wiring from ariel to your home

Never thought of that...I'll go round to my cybergeek friend and try it there. Thanks for your invaluable advice LL.

Guy came round to check my sockets and it turns out the wind had blown the arial off course.Have since found out that my neighbours had problems too...So all is good. Thanks for your help.
