I have just posted a string of inane posts through sheer boredom as I lay here on my couch with a broken leg, unable to do much except idlely peruse the Lewes forum.
To my astonishment, Webbo deleted them within minutes!!!
Nothing offensive or controversial in my posts.
The fact that Webbo has done this has actually ended up entertaining me, which I'm grateful for, as I've never been so bored as I am right now.
But it has got me wondering - how many other posts does Webbo remove if he doesn't want them on this forum? Is there no free speech here? Is everything vetted by Webbo first?!
I didn't even make any remarks about P.
So why the removal Webbo?!

Pedro, Mark and various other of the permanently offended post inane stuff constantly and it's never taken down.
Perhaps this webbo person doesn't like women - much like the above persons seem to dislike women especially those with a strong opinion

He has never pretended to support free speech. It's a unicorn, nobody actually does support it all cases.

And seeing as free speech is about freedom from the state punishing you doesn't really apply to how Webbo chooses to run this website

It's all very aspirational all of this freedom of speech business, but just like any newspaper or magazine I should imagine it is not a charity. Do you see the advertisements to the left and right? That's why this forum exists, to generate revenue from advertising. Don't get me wrong, it's a good place for local info and to talk nonsense but essentially this is making the owner - I presume Webbo - cashola.

But Webbo did punish me by removing 4 of my posts! It took me quite a long time to come up with inane numerous posts and then he deleted all 4 in one foul swoop! That is punishment!
There was nothing about our friend P. Nothing un-PC. Nothing challenging. Just nonsense really (I'd taken quite a bit of prescribed codeine beforehand).
Yet he has bizarrely kept this thread going!!
Anyway my point remains, why is Webbo deleting non offensive posts?
Care to explain Webbo?

Basically he wants it to be sensible - yet the way it's set up anyone can post under an assumed name- maybe that is not possible to change ? But if it was changed he would run the risk of the forum collapsing from want of sensible posts. Because basically Lewes is a tiny parochial area of no real consequence where nothing much of note happens. Kind regards.

I like BONFIRE NIGHT, and of course all the out-meetings which go on around this time - and the loud bang at the crack of dawn!
