There are indeed way too many incidences where the police go OTT. They just love it if you give them a reason to put their hands on you and even more if the accosted struggles a tad. Police state? No. There are idiots in the police force and even more idiots drunk and disorderly in most town centres on an evening. If he was being lairy he had it coming. If the policeman is so stupid he got caught on CCTV - he had it coming too. That's life.
