There's a lot of middle class hysteria in Wallands at the moment, thanks to the "demographic change" in the school produced by the Pells closure. Our two children have had a good experience however and I'm still really happy with the school. Its location and grounds are so much more pleasant than the two schools in town which many DFLs prefer - they seem really poky and cramped by comparison.

Do you what, check every school out fur yourself! Look at the schools, get a feel for them, read the OFSTED reports and base your thoughts on that. There are some really good points at every school in lewes and there are some really bad things too. It wouldn’t be fair on any school to judge in what people’s comments are. My children attend Southover and have had a huge bullying problem with their peers, my friend attends Malling and find a lack of communication is a real problem, another friend attends western road lacks in SENCO provision, another attends wallands and finds there’s a problem with SENCO and bullying. So it’s where you feel most comfortable tbh.

Agree with LaLa.

Lots of middle class (DfL) parents have pulled their kids, with little thought for the impact that changing schools has on a child, because of ‘problem’ kids from pells.

Ofsted reports are a little silly and don’t provide a decent measure of a child’s development. Lots of good teachers, grounds are fantastic. Southover is taking on a lot of the wallands leavers.

Stupid thing is, they’ll all end up back together at Priory anyway. Or you could send your kids to logs and avoid any contact with regular kids. But I’d only do that if you really hate your children.
