Is all this trenching and cabling for the new lightning-fast ultra broadband that I had a leaflet about recently? If so has anyone got access yet, or at least started the ball rolling??? Will it be affordable I wonder......

They'll be bombarding you with ultra cheap offers to get you signed up. Someone's got to pay for all that work.

They will cable all the areas where they are likely to get subscribers. The "posh" bits will probably be the last ones to be cabled; as the returns will be less and the objections more. Those round the fourth side of the monopoly board will already have satellite for the quality programmes.

They have done Houndean, but I'm of the opinion the council estates would be richer pickings for them, poorer folk seem to spend their money on this type of thing. I see the new adverts say you can record 6 programmes ,while watching another !! Is there really that much to see ??

Would our under funded council not have been able too ask the virgin wealth to re surface the whole pavement as they were going rather than leaving silly bits of Tarmac leaving uneven foot ways

Surely time for some mass 'trips' and corresponding injuries to be claimed for. they deserve it for the mess

There has to be a 25mm discrepancy on the footway to make a claim

i was told by LDC that the Highways Agency authorised this work, and they in turn told me (in writing) that Virgin have to return the pavements to the condition in which they found them. I wrote to Virgin who said that they are allowed to leave the tarmac strip down the pavements - hardly returning them to the previous condition. all the pavements in the Neville now have this strip running down them and it doesnt look great. no way i will sign up for the service of a company that does this however cheap the offer.
