Just read this in the Sussex Express:
TRAVELLERS will be provided with more pitches in East Sussex.
Lewes and Wealden district councils confirmed they will need to find almost 30 sites.
Councils have not confirmed any specific locations for any sites yet.
SEERA has put forward four different options:
Option A - New spaces should all be provided as close as possible to where Gypsies and travellers currently live.
This may mean that some council areas have no spaces.
Option B - New spaces should all be in the same general areas where Gypsies and travellers currently live.
Neighbouring councils would share the duty for providing new spaces, but some council areas would have none.
Option C - Half the new spaces should be in the same general area where Gypsies and travellers currently live.
The other half would be spread across the region to make sure that all areas provide some spaces.
Option D - Most new spaces should be in the same general areas where Gypsies and travellers currently live. A quarter would be spread across the region to make sure that all areas provide some spaces.
Quickly changing into my "Daily Mail" tweed cap (which I seem to wear on a regular basis)- I hang my head in shame.

lets skip option E and go straight to option 'F' Treat them the same as any other person, move them on until they learn that the laws and by laws apply to everyone of us. Where do travellers currently live? nowhere! thats why they're called travellers, to supply space close to where they have illegally set up camp could see this minority amass large amounts of land for their sole use, ( I say sole) because no one in their right mind would want to stop for the night on a tour of our country on one of these sites. in return for the supply of free land the council tax payer will pay for the upkeep and clearance, each time it becomes too overloaded with old driveway rubble and nappies. A school in Middlesex had to pay almost fifteen thousand pounds to clear their playing field because of six weeks occupation by travellers, so you see, the annual cost to the county will use up funds needed for sevices that are already struggling to cope. The councils should not bow down to these people because they are a so called minority, they are not a legitamate minority, only a minority because they choose to be. The word racism is being used more often by some travellers now and I find that highly amusing, given that the ones using the word are the same race as the majority of us in this country. I think the word they are searching for is discrimination, not too many travelling teachers about then I guess. So, more sites for travellers! Try Afghanistan, all the carnage, debris and rubble, they should feel right at home, oh! except for the lack of free facilities.
