We now have some in Ringmer! Hoorah, think I'll go round there with some nice buns and a bone for their Rottweiller, so they feel welcome. Wouldn't want them to feel threatened, the poor loves.

I spied a Council Van parked at the entrance to the field at Landport bottom on Nevill. Climbed the gate, walked said dog and when I returned he was still there. he has been posted there for however long, to stop the Pik.... whoops Travelling Community from invading there!. Apparently council bods are placed all round the area at strategic places! He said he has been put there in an unmarked van, however he was wearing a bright green Lewes District Council T shirt! Strange...................................

Sussex Express have an interesting article about travellers moving on from South Heighton, and local residents having to go in and clear up the mess which included general rubbish and flytipped domestic appliances. Also seems that these people were emptying their chemical toilets into a drainage ditch, and dumping human faeces in bramble bushes. If that is what is acceptable to these quaint travelling folk, or even a minority of them, then its not surprising they get the reaction they do. It also points out that there is a caravan site with modern facilities a few hundred yards away on which these particular people could have stayed. OK, they would have to pay, but dont all of us have to pay to live somewhere ?
