Its so nice to be out in the nice weather.......except in election time!
I was pottering around the garden when I has the misfortune to bump into the "Local" Conservative Candidate, Ms Donna Edmunds.
What a rude and arrogant young lady! She came across as full of herself-I gather my some of my friends have come across her and was struck bu how haughty she was.
I also gather she lives in Lewes and not in Barcombe cross, and my local Conservative friends know nothing about her.
I've always voted Conservative, but for the first time in 50 years I might change my vote-if I bother at all!

She has a blog: donnaedmunds.blogspot.com/
In it she says:

"As you may or may not know, I'm currently campaigning in the District Council elections (to be held on May 5th) in Barcombe, Sussex. If you have a bit of spare time, come along and help us campaign - it's a lovely part of the world.

Last weekend I delivered approximately 600 leaflets to every village house in the ward. It's amazing how many of those houses don't have postboxes (how do they get their mail?!), but it's even more amazing how many of them have CCTV installed. Always on the more modest properties, always in the newly built cul-de-sacs that have been wedged into little pockets of farmland or old Victorian industrial areas, now defunct."

It doesn't sound like she's been to Barcombe before (or possibly any villages). Doesn't sound like she'll be aware of Barcombe concerns or village issues in general.

As a Tory Graham I guess UKIP is your nearest alternative. Is the UKIP candidate a local Graham? Seaford maybe?

BTW. I know of no houses in Barcombe with CCTV. Perhaps she's confusing bird boxes with cameras? It can happen if you are not used to the countryside I believe.

Its not obvious from her blog that she is rude or indeed especially unusual , perhaps you just got her at a bad moment , why not give her a chance ?
On the subject of fairness I have to be fair to Ruth O Keefe . I looked up her salary under the Council `s audited accounts and she does indeed work for £10k a bit without further remittance for a cabinet position etc.
Fair play to Ruth; looking into her activities briefly , she does a lot of work for not very much and whilst she is a bit wet for my taste , politically, what a good sort she is.
Three cheers for Ruth

While I think of it she did not deliver leaflets to all of Barcombe. She missed Anchor Lane, but maybe the Tories take their vote for granted on Anchor Lane.

Jana Edmunds?
Isn't she running in Lewes...I've booked some events at Lewes Church and if its the same girl she is very nice.
If this is a relative she seemed so haughty-it might be just a bad day, but I am a voter after all and I expect them to be polite.
As for CCTV camera's, apart from some private security camera's (which is up to people) I've not noticed "big brother"-we are quite a friendly lot.
Her blog doesn't really talk about issues that concern Barcombe either???? Is she political science student looking for a safe seat? Very strange indeed.....I would rather have somebody like Ruth, and somebody who seems intent on making her mark in the world.
BTW what is her occupation?

Is it Jana or Donna then ? Jana sounds like a Star Wars Character to me. You can invent your Star Wars name by adding the make of your first car to the last thing you bought at the chemist

Mine is Mini Gel

I'm a bit confused. Are Donna and Jana the same person? If so, why does she have (at least) two names?

Is the Donna Edmunds blogging as the Undercover Princess in the Hoody Hugger blog where:

donnaedmunds.blogspot.com

the same as Jana Edmunds (or Jana Jacobson?) writing here:

ianajacobson.blogspot.com/

If so, why?

I am loving Jana`s stated occupation "Ass Manager". I shall try not to covet this Ass which you will recall the Bible strictly forbids. I wonder if the ass is managed by reinforced knickers or a suitably robust rope and bridle.

Either way let us hope the ass suffers no pain.

And you call *us* rude. At least we don't sit behind pseudo names on the internet, but actually get out and *do* something.
Jana is my mother, by the way. It's a Russian name.

a lot of the houses in Barcombe have motion sensors above the doorways to switch night lights on - this is not for fear of crime but because there are no street lamps in Barcombe and it's useful to see when you try put your key in the door.

maybe she thought these things were cctv?

No, they were CCTV. They had stickers next to them that said "CCTV". I'm not stupid, y'know.
