According to scientists' reports - including yet another one today on the BBC website - in 100 years it seems that sea levels are going to be 1 - 1.5m higher than now. Therefore the lower end of Lewes appears to have a limited shelf life. So this morning I was pondering possible solutions...

The best I could come up with was some sort of Thames Flood Barrier for the Ouse at Newhaven.

Any thoughts from engineering types? Is that feasible?

Won't affect me too much, I'm nearly 40, but my kids and potential grandkids might be interested.
