Who read the Sussex Express front page regarding the proposed 'center for sporting excellence'? Do we need it? the town as a whole or a few individuals? I think Lewes is well catered for in that respect without ruining the convent field to satisfy the ego of the chairman of Lewes football club. Not content with building on every last available space in the town through his building and development companies he now wants to spoil one of Lewes' best open spaces. I urge you all to oppose this sham.
ps. I wonder who the main contractor will be should the council lose their marbles and permit building?
Could it possibly the same firm that built the new stand at the Pan? The same firm who's managing director is also chairman of Lewes football club?
Call me a cynic but I see a link.

I reckon they should build a 25000 seat stadium there and let Brighton & Hove albion move in. How many times would we see you wandering round this 'open space' Toothy?

I used to play alot of sport when I was younger and I still play a bit now. The point I was making (as you need everything explaining rev) is I never found Lewes lacking in the facilities dept. with the Southdown club, Leisure center, Athlectics club, loads of football and cricket pitches etc. I think you dream of Lewes producing our own Wayne Rooney so we can all say 'I know him' as he scores for England/ swears at the referee/ falls in the gutter outside a night club/etc. but do you think the rest of us do? (yes chav I know you do).

At least we can dream of having a footie star while you only dream of having a tooth of your own. Swearing at refs, falling in gutters !! My hero
