I love it there, its my favourite restaurant!
The staff are lovely and polite, and the cooking is amazing!
I reccomend it to all. But why doesn't it have its menus on the takeaway menus page

I think 'Local' is wonderful and it would be nice if everyone in Lewes, no, in the world was like him. I'm quite unbiased in my view of myself and no-one has put me up to this. Please agree how wonderful I am. I recommend myself to all.

If I were Webby I'd be a bit p*issed off with people coming on here trying to give their businesses free advertisements. Do you think anyone really believes the messages? I make a point of giving places that do it a miss. And as for you 'Local'...

Wasn't terribly impressed when it first opened but now, it's serving up some seriously decent food. I've a a few "sit ins" and a few takeaways lately and it's been absolutely top notch. Off there this weekend too !!!

The khorai and Gurka's revenge are very good, but I'm underwhelmed by the rest of the curries. Prefer the 'traditional English' curries of Lewes Spice on the whole. Dilraj is OK. But why doesn't it have its menus on the takeaway menus page Shanaz is shocking. Chaula's is more authentic but not that great - unless you like your food to look like a bowl of dog vomit.

What's shocking about Shanaz Toque? You not referring to the plastic leaves on the ceiling, do you? Otherwise their food and service is the best imo. Great food and friendly humerous waiter. I like the nice big portions Lewes Spice does. But it has been a bit quiet recently and they affer a 20% discount when eat in. I fear that they are struggling. Dilraj has tiny portions and the service was rude. It's on the blacklist. And for Chaula, I had different takeways expecting divine food from heaven when it actually even my partner agreed that ASDA does better dishes. Their bag is nice though but not sure if it's worth the extra tenner you spend as compared to Lewes Spice?

The plastic leaves on the ceiling and the quality of the food makes the Shanaz a bit of a Life on Mars experience. Good banter though, but it's not enough.
The fresh chicken madras from Tescos deli is very good. A bit too sweet and not quite hot enough, but for a supermarket not 'arf bad.

But it doesn't mean their food is bad? Look at all the awards they got and I must say it's the best Indian food I have tasted. Anyway, I fancy a '70s theme' especially when its fondue night.

Shanaz is consistently good and is great for a sit down meal. Spice Merchant can be a bit hit and miss but some of the dishes are very good. The Ganges is Ringmer is excellent. But why isn't its menu on the takeaway menus page In general the curry houses in Lewes are of a decent standard.
Re 'a restaurant'. It is not your normal trad British curry house and I think it confuses people but the food is great.
It is a bit rich though us going on about Indian food when I bet most of us English couldn't even make a decent omlette let alone get grips with making a curry
