That part of town is now sadly short of shops selling basic food, for example fruit and veg, eggs, bread etc. the Patisserie is good, but no fruit and veg... ; )

why ? ...
.cafe ? yeah great idea there's hardly any cafes in Lewes
I'm sure the Red Cross can afford to pay the rest of the lease off , they are after all a national retailer .

Perhaps this would make a good art gallery for the North street artists as their leases expire shortly. Perhaps for a collaboration of artists perhaps to keep costs down.

It was a Sports shop. You can tell as it has "Sports" written across the front of it in large white letters.
There's been a fair bit of interest already. Head shop anyone?
Personally I'd like it to be a greengrocers but veg makes so little money that's not likely. A pound shop would be handy too but there's not enough floor space. Otherwise we can probably look forward to another cafe or expensive twine shop.

I think another charity shop or antiques shop would go well. Lewes seems to be lacking in these at the moment.
Or, it could be a Costa. Not sure what we are going to do now we are loosing the Costa from the Esso garage.
