SKY Aaeral Cable & Remote - Where to buy in Lewes

Hello. I wondered whether I can get a Sky aeral cable (the one with the screw bits) somewhere in Lewes without the need to go to Brighton? Also Sky remote would be good. I had a look at Curry's down at Cliffe and they are out of standard remotes and don't sell the cable. Need several of both and don't want to have to go to Brighton every time. If not a shop, anyone living local who does Sky installations? Also, if it happens that you've an unwanted Sky box, I take them and give them to a good cause. Thanks.

Thanks Fa. Shouldn't have gone through all the trouble. Remote is brilliant. Cable, no. It's the same as a standard TV coax just that they have put screw ends on so Sky can screw you over by sending on of their Engineers around who then screws it in for you. Homebase? Does anybody with common sense shop there? The same brackets and screws are 5 trillion times more expensive than at the hardwareshop in Cliffe. I hate Sky and Homebase. Oh, I hate them so much for ripping out our hearts out and screwing us all over!

Well i like to think i have a bit of common sense....as i shop in Homebase. I had enough common sense to look in the Argos catalogue for you anyway.
You can buy the "screw ends" in Homebase which attach to the co-ax. Most of the stuff is labelled for TV, Satelite or Radio etc and it's up by the light bulbs. However, as you do not shop there, you may have to call an engineer out or go to Brighton.

I try not to buy stuff from Homebase as it always way more expensive than any where else.
I get my satellite stuff from ebay but failing that the best place is Maplins in Brighton (knowledgeble staff) or online maplin.co.uk

Or talk to my mate what works in Homebase. As much as you want for a pint of Stella. You know it makes sense.

Fa, it wasn't meant to be personal at you at all. I think it's very kind of you to have spent all the time to look it up. With regards to Homebase those two screw ends probably cost a quadzillion whereby Bryant in Brighton charges a pound or so and Maplins a moderate 'half-of-all-your-life -earnings'. Thank you for letting me know that I can buy them here as this is the answer to my original question. Whether I will is another. I would love to do the environment a favour and save myself some time but not for a quadzillion! Their prices are not justified and they're taking advantage of their key market position. I'm from the continent and just can't believe how you are screwed over and over again every day. And you thank them for all those Sofa and Kitchen sales! The UK and especially Lewes is a ripp-off wonderland!! £28 for a candle at Flint, 440ml cans with no special offers at Lewes BIGGEST off-license which is a joke, two kebab shops run by the same owner, a Tesco whose Duty Manager Paul gazes over the River Ouse watching me picking up THEIR rubbish before it ends up in the river, a ripp-off Waitrose as Tesco's only competition (don't even start the home farmed organic argument, it's pants). One can't even argue that Homebase is pricy as for good service. Staff can't be seen for a mile. Thanks god there's a little hardware shop down at Cliffe where I walk in and get instant help at REASONABLE prices. That's for the other tip Terry.

THEINTREPIDFOX the cable used for sky isn't the same as ariel cable it's different, It has a different impedance ! although it may look the same and work simmilar.
The screw end's are not that dear from homebase or maplin
yes you could prob get them cheaper from a wholsaler but by the time you have driven to Uckfield, Eastbourne or Brighton and parked found the shop etc
would prob have been cheaper to go to homebase.
Not sure how homebase are ripping you off they sell thing at a mark up
just like any business they sell stuff other people dont in a conveniant
location that's Business

Maybe your next post should read please help me find something
although I want it for Nothing as im too tight to pay a few pence more.
Then people could decide to waste time helping you.

Seems a bit harsh sky Dave
Homebase is more expensive than almost everywhere else I have looked.
B&Q is always cheaper and if you're buying over £20 worth of stuff then its worth the drive and you don't get that feeling of being ripped off.
I don't mid paying more in Bunces as I think its a fantastic (localish) shop but the stuff isn't usually more expensive.

Homebase is a sister company to Argos. They often sell the same product at similar prices and their stock is getting more aligned.
Also local shops are not always more expensive as it often depends upon the items.

Chav, unnecessary.
sky Dave is right and to be fair Intrepidfox, you are looking for a specialist product in mainstream shops, you try finding a number two knitting needle at homebase or a decent pint in the lamb.
Home hardware is a cave of gifts by a poor representation of the old school hardware school.
By taking a sky box and giving it to a good cause I assume you are using it for a pigs latrine to prevent the rupe from brainwashing us all into beer swilling titty watching poms.
