Bit like this Forum really, which , I notice is especially rude and aggressive towards right wing women, as if they have less right to disagree.

It will be very very interesting to see if ANY of the members of the local authority lose their positions and are held up to public blame, also if any of the members of the police service are treated in similar manner. It will be glossed over, and nobody will be at fault,it will be blamed on the "System"
I am sure that Rotherham council will be using the "Nuremburg Defence" I was only doing my job."and it was not me guv.

I'm wondering if there have been any arrests yet.
Lots of evidence and I understand some of these children have identified their attackers. Might be wrong on the latter but I'm sure something so recent would mean perpetrators abusers easily identified.
After all quite a few figures in the public eye have been nicked/questioned/tried by media/etc on the basis of allegation of something that happened years ago.
Strikes me that convictions in the Rotherham scandal should be a easy to get

And let's not forget the police as well. They seem to have reached the same depths of incompetence as the council. What we have to accept is that we're governed and policies by malign idiots.
'It was reported yesterday that two Rotherham councillors and a police officer in the town had been accused of having sex with victims of abuse.
'The police officer has also been accused of passing information on to abusers in the town, while a colleague of the officer has reportedly been accused of failing to take appropriate action after receiving information about his conduct. Both have been reported to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.'

Still all quiet on the Thatcher covering up Tory pedophiles front I notice.
Suddenly nobody seems interested in child abuse anymore.

@Andrew James - there is hard evidence in the Rotherham case where the non action of the Labour Council and the Old Bill has been criminal. Yet still the perpetrators walk free.
On the other hand the only evidence of Thatcher "covering up Tory paedophiles" seems to be unsubstantiated media claims, headline grabbing allegations from certain politicians and some hysterical stuff on social media.
Prosecution needs a little more than that.
We have a lot more in Rotherham right now but still no arrests.
Thank you anyway for the party political broadcast.
But to suggest "nobody seems interested in child abuse anymore" to make a (very weak) political point suggest to me you need to look long and hard at your own motives for expressed concern.

I think OB you will find that quite recently it emerged that Mrs T had attempted to conceal the behaviour of at least one of her wayward colleagues. She certainly wasn't very wise in her befriending of blatantly creepy manipulator, Sir J Savile. And we all know about Cyril Smith, at least we do now, no thanks to all the people who kept it an 'open secret' . Abuse is about power, not political hue.
