Every year I enjoy listening to Rocket Radio - it is refreshingly different and highly entertaining (even all the c*ck-ups!).
Has anyone been listening?
What do you think?

Don't know that one, but I'll look out for it. I usually listen to LBC 97.3

shame they can't broadcast longer - always been interesting and refreshing I agree - struggle to hear on my mp3 player though - even with the headphone lead stretched above my head (get a few funny looks but what the heck)

I think the short broadcast adds to the appeal. They would probably run out of things to say/do if it went on for 52 weeks a year (and Rupert would have to move back to Lewes permanently).

My boys in Starfish who do live sessions for Rocket Radio and it's a great showcase for young Lewes talent.
They should be on all year round

god forbid 52 weeks - I was thinking more of a couple of months - maybe up to New Year - to cover the other great fireworks celebration of the calendar - just to see Rocket stickers in windows to keep reminding all the whingy old pyro-haters that should never have moved to Lewes in the first place that there is more to come

Fair comment - maybe they could incorporate live broadcasts from outmeetings (and coaches to/from outmeetings).
How about Lewes TV - that could be fun although most of Lewes would not be able to receive it........I feel a new thread coming on......

I think that's what they are called - they are a collective of local residents with an interest in the development of the Lewes House site

Lopster, are you a member of this group wanting publicity?
Two developers are planning to build a load of homes on the land (owned by Lewes district council) between Walwers Lane, Church Twitten and Broomans Lane. The land in question is currently used as a car park and there is a fenced off area of open space.
Breaches of the Twitten walls and building of tall buildings are planned, all in the name of progress. Some of the properties shall be "affordable" and there shall be no vehicular access to the properties (or car parking available).
In has all the ingredients of being quite controversial

far from it - regulars will know my opinion of our disgusting local planning department and constant decisions to build houses without upping the town's infrastructure - I've loved Lewes for years because it has remained undeveloped - flood plains, downs and river have provided a safe haven - until about 5 years ago - now all we see is tiny houses too expensive; no residents parking; no extra doctors; dentists school places - bus station - wenbans - back of the Ellie - side of ambulance station - what has happened to the Phoenix proposals? where is the terrier of the commmons Baker when he's really needed - to defend our towns over-development
