Just walked through town and there is a group of say about 20 teenagers smashing up cars, house windows and shops. I even witnessed them attack several pedestrians.

Lewes people shouldn't make joke. They are not funny people and their jokes reflect that!

The web master must be able to track THE WITNESS through his e-mail address and ban the sick prat for starting such a sick thread. The people who have had their shops vandalised and contents stolen are mostly hard working people, so to start rumours that it has just started in Lewes is so immature and stupid.

Jesus invisible man, lighten up a bit. Think it was more a bit of banter than anything serious.

I was just stating what I saw. Admittedly, I think I was wrong, as I don't think they were teenagers. It appears they were actually oapā??s rebelling. There has been recent reports that oap's are refusing to pay when they enter the pells

Idiots like you we can do without thankyou. A sick "joke"in very poor taste. There is enough trouble in our world without morons like you inciting it.I sincerely hope, webbo is able to pass on to police names of the those morons trying to incite trouble in Lewes.

How on earth is anyone supposed to know? It's written in a flat style, completely devoid of anything approaching humour. How is it banter? It's puerile (look it up - it means childish and stupid) when all the UK's cities are apparently at risk, and particularly when by all accounts much of the trouble is being coordinated on the internet. Absolutely pathetic, and pathetic of you to defend it.

Really, really frightening DC, especially the fact that they obviously treat it as a great bit of free entertainment.

I love it how you just took it so seriously, lighten up a little. Yeah, things have taken a turn for the worse but when is ever everything going ok. This time it's the people taking the piss and not the government.
Stop living in your little rich lewes bubble and come to the realisation that something needs to be done about the gap between rich and poor. I agree that the riots now have nothing to do with this, but it just shows that if people have no respect then others will show no respect.

And I ask again, Witness, how is anyone supposed to know that this was meant to be a joke?

I don't live in a rich Lewes bubble: I work very hard to fund my life. I am very acutely aware of how other's lives are hard, brutish and short: how exactly was your OP meant to highlight this?

In fact, reading your OP and your subsequent attempt at self-justification together makes me think that you're the one who needs to break out of a bubble and stop piling platitude on platitude.

The Witness. I have just read on police web site, that arrests, and charges, have been made of several people on facebook for "joking". It is NOT in any way shape or form "funny.Anyone else think it "funny"? As I mentioned earlier, anyone giving cause for concern on this site, will hopefully think again!
