Recycling rant

Just a quick rant to get this off my chest.
I wondered if anyone else has this problem?
I dont have a car (it got written off recently) but because of where I live in Lewes for some reason the don't collect bottles or cardboard with the rest of the recycling. Why is that? I now have cardboard and glass building up in the kitchen and wondered how I'm meant to take this to the recycling dump without a car?
Everywhere else I've lived the glass and cardboard has been collected.
WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY SUCH HUGE COUNCIL TAX BILLS AND STILL DRIVE MY RECYCLING TO THE DUMP??!!
ok I feel better now.

OK
I'm thinking that Tesco's and Waitrose etc should pay for their packaging to be collected from our houses......come on someone pull your finger out.

Dont buy the stuff thats overpacked and reduce your own rubbish. I dont even use the small plastic bags in the veg and fruit section, just lay the loose items on the conveyor.
Quite often the grocers and butchers are much cheaper too.
Why heat seal cucmbers and turnips! What is all that about?

Don't know why your area does not have glass collection. Ask Furniture Now recycling enquiries on 01273 479666. The recycle-more website has a complete list of all the mini recycling banks in the area and what waste type you can take there.

Well so does that mean their might be a time when they'll collect glass?
Even if you leave packaging at the supermarket you still end up with glass.

Spinster that does not surprise me. Anti-Tesco anti-recycle. Is there anything you don't moan about?? You need to get a partner and get yourself something else to calm yourself down!!!!

Get a partner? WHY? That would be something else to moan about!

They might do your recycling for you though!
I'm anti people who don't recycle. They cost me money. Because ALL their rubbish goes to landfill, which increases the amount the district council pays in landfill tax, and reduces the the amount the county council receives in recycling credits. The council tax is therefore higher than it would otherwise be because of the extra costs and lost income. Why should I subsidise your idleness, Spinster?
I long for the day when people have to pay for the amount of rubbish they put out for the bin men.

now then James don't get personal...
Don't even start me on the privately run recycling "council tip" - they haven't got a clue - made me put a CARDBOARD door in a wood only skip(because doora are wood - I even tore it in front of them and was STILL told to put it in (and the handles and fittings all in a skip clearly matked wood only) - next door WAS wood - with one tiny tiny glazed panel - another employee mademe pull it OUT of the wood skip because of the glass and put it in general skip (this door had NO hinges handles etc and by now the entire glass panel had broken out) - I protested - and was told------ it doesn't matter what goes in where because it is all shipped to Germany for them to sort it out - WHAT IS THE POINT?

I think James should get back on here and clarify matters. Is it a cormorant or pipe tobacco that Spinster needs? Ands should the RSPB be involved if it's the former?
