Most houses on our street were sent a letter saying we will not be given a new recycling bin (because there’s no frontage to store them), so we should carry on recycling with the black boxes as normal. Then yesterday, after the recycling was collected, a van came and took away ALL of the black boxes from our street. When asked where we we supposed to put our recycling the driver just said he didn’t know, he was just told to collect them all. What a cock up.

We were given new recycling bins yesterday but as it was the day that the recycling is collected and they hadn't been round by then, the old containers were full so couldn't be taken away. This means we all still have the old boxes. I was fuming and about to contact the council but decided to have a cup of tea instead. I thought about it and realised that in the scheme of things it wasn't so terrible as I now had additional containers which I could fill with rubbish and use next time I went to the dump and leave there or not. Isn't a little think to put things in perspective a useful thing. I'll start doing it before posting on here if everyone else does. On second thoughts (also a useful thing) I do quite enjoy having and reading a good rant.

Sounds like communication letting them down. Stick it in the bin till a new recycling container turns up. It mostly ends up in landfill anyway so chill for a couple of weeks and it'll be all good.
