It seems that hardly anyone understands the concept, or indeed clear visibility of merging exits on roundabouts. Why is it that when I take the first exit where there are two clear lanes of entry does the car to my right beep the horn and gesticulate wildly like I could have caused a collision? I don't need to let you pass first because there's enough room for us both. That's why two lanes of entry were built. Please, please, pleeeeeease..... Anyone coming through the tunnel and on to Ringer or Uckfield, please take the exit lane to the right and allow merging traffic to take the left lane coming out of Lewes. It's really not that difficult.......

You're wasting your time Expert. Most drivers should be made to retake their test every year.

As most drivers cant be bothered to stick to the 30mph speed limit up and down Malling St there is no way they will be able to cope with something as complex as a roundabout! What gets me is so cars seem to be built without indicators! WTF cant people use 'em?????

I think it's to do with this: 'Qu'est-ce quil fail? se dit le bouvier'.

Mini-roundabouts - Drivers use of them, we all know that you should give way to traffic from the right on a roundabout, and that includes mini-roundabouts as they must be treated as a "normal" roundabout. There is a big but, that is that you do not have the right of way until you have reached the white line. Too many drivers approach mini-roundabouts far too fast and think that their speed gives them the right of way. When waiting to proceed all to often as you do so some idiot comes straight across the white circle and then calls you all sorts of names and uses hand signs that are not in the Highway Code. This happens throughout the UK, not just at the Quilfall Tunnel. Unless the vehicle is too large to do so all cars should be made to negotiate the white circle which would slow them down. I believe it should be an offence not to do so.

Just read my post, a little bit abrupt, got on my high horse there. Sorry but I do feel very strongly about it, saw a fatal accident in Essex caused by what I have described in the post.

Jrs, the cuifail tunnel is a proper roundabout and not just a White dot marked in the road! Was last time I bothered looking as I swung my big White van round it dangerously.

Very aware of that. I just thought I would mention my pet hate of stupid drivers who cause accidents/near accidents at mini-roundabouts given the the content of the original post. Apologies if you are annoyed by my comment. A little worrying that you are a white van driver :-)
