Pinwell toilets

You may have noticed that these toilets (opposite The Lansdown) have had very erratic opening hours recently. They said "Not open 24 hours a day"; but they were closed all day one day, open the next day, then closing half way through the next day (about 4 pm). After I asked the council what the hell was going on, I received a 'phone call from a courteous council employee, who explained that they were now closed permanently; I suggested that perhaps the notices could tell people that. Indeed, the notices have now been changed. I am telling people this to save those who don't know walking around with their legs crossed. Buy a half in the pub, if it's open!
Drug takers have been dealing, smashing up the place and leaving so many needles around that staff are scared to try cleaning up the mess.

CCTV camera. Home in on toilets, arrest druggists and convict?

Yes, I suggested that. But until we have an Orwellian big brother database of photographic identity, how would you find them?
I suppose an immediate response might work if the CCTV was monitored in real time. But the powers that be would have more important things to do.

I wonder what the police do all day. Do they still have constables and detectives? I did see some statistics on line years ago showing the success rate on solving crimes which was so low I was surprised. Some time later I thought I'd check it again but I was unable to find anything.

Public space CCTV in Sussex falls under the joint responsibility of the police and various local authorities across the county. While the Local Authorities own and maintain the cameras, Sussex Police own, maintain, and operate the control rooms where they monitor the cameras.
As with all of our customers, we didn’t just deliver a cutting edge CCTV system, we delivered an on-going managed service. Sussex Police is confident that its system won’t let its officers down: we use remote diagnostics to continually monitor its performance, spotting and sorting potential problems before they cause an issue.
And we back that up with Service Level Agreements guaranteeing protection every hour of the day and night, 365 days a year.'

As well as dealing, it had been a creepy cottaging spot for years now too

Being the right-wing tory that I am, I think its all about personal responsibility for your own bladder/bowels. Just use some discipline and hold it in. Think and act like a camel. My record is 51 hours.

This way you can avoid going into these mini drug supermarkets, with added cottaging options on the side.

I would go for one of these, and it has an extension pipe.

My congratulations Green Sleeves. But since being diagnosed with prostate cancer, my record is about one hour. I was having to plot courses (and therefore my order of doing tasks) between public loos and friends' houses. That's why I took the council to task. With the pubs (and the library) now being open, life is much simpler.

What a sad place Lewes Forum has become. I can recall the Good Old Days when there were raging fights over Style and North Street, tables outside Bill's, politics, religion... Now we're reduced to Tom Pain's prostate. I know it's a serious matter Tom, but it's not world news.

Yes, TP, there was a CCTV nearby, pointing down towards the station car park. It has now gone.
Amazingly, they were open this pm. Weird, but I'm not complaining.
Basil - are you seriously suggesting that TP and I are the same person? Yes, dissociative identity disorder can be a serious problem - but there are limits!
