Anyone notice how clear the pells water is at the moment? You can see right to the bottom. Im not really a course fisherman anymore but was astounded by the large numbers of half decent carp in there ( up near 200 maybe)
Also noticed there were barely any small fish to be seen if any? No roach? I did notice a pair of cormorants hooving up the lake a year back ( deadly bloody things) anyways the fish numbers looked quality

saw huge shoals of baby roach and rudd hugging the edges of the islands a few years ago. I know that they are easily caught on light float tackle and single maggot.
Not sure if there's any tench or perch in there nowadays. trouble is, once the carp get in there, they do tend to take over and nothing else can compete for food with them.
I remember back in the 70's when there weren't many carp at all but some nice Bream and Roach in there. it would be nice to get it back to a decent eco system again.

Just noticed. TP started "Quote of the Moment", although it's hard to understand what it's for. more
