1.Does anyone know if there are any plans to restock pells pond with some other fish such as perch or pike as it has become rather boring fishing for the same old carp, roach,Rudd and tench ect.
2.What has happened to the ponds filtering system as there doesn't seem to be enough oxygen in the pond for the fish.

Firstly, why do you ask about oxygen levels? I've never seen the fish in any distress or gasping for oxygen, even in the hottest months. Secondly, there's plenty of day ticket waters around if you're getting bored. The river is free fishing from Wiley's bridge to the sea and there's plenty of species in there.

Oh, the pond doesn't have a filter system, it's a natural pond.

The developers of the Phoenix site, Santon, has drawn up plans to improve the water quality (no longer done naturally) and indeed the whole area including the play ground. This will be done at some point in the next three years or so. I understand the demolition work is starting late this year.

Only saying what I heard but a builder my son knows said that retail units in town aren't shifting and the value of the land in North St is crashing because of Brexit and other towns being cheaper, so they're looking to sell it on for gated community houses and maisonettes for investors, nothing else now. They're going up in value. Not offices, not shops. I'm only the messenger!

If you were to put Pike and Perch in the pells it would be the death of it. There is barely enough water to sustain the current stock which already has nowhere to hide. There was a pike in the pells back in the 70's and that did not workout well either.
