I cannot believe the people who worked on Lewes Carnival got parking tickets for their troubles!
Came back to the carpark where all people taking part were told it was ok to park to find 4 parking attendants happily ticketing as many cars as they could! Anyone know if we can appeal?

If you were told that you could park for free, then you should not have been ticketed. Simple. That is blatant underhandedness on the part of NCP looking for easy pickings. Interesting to see how those upstanding pillars of society such as Narker and Lily of the Valley will excuse their behaviour and make it all your fault !.

If the Council/NCP told you that it was ok to park in a car park all day for free, then you should appeal as there's obviously a breakdown of communication somewhere. But if you didn't have official permission and just assumed you could leave your vehicle there then of course you're going to get ticketed. Just because someone's attending a carnival doesn't exclude them from the parking regulations.

I wouldn't call it underhand, if the wardens are told to leave a vehicle(s) alone then they will unless the message isn't passed on for whatever reason. If they're not told, then they're going to fine you if your car's parked without a ticket, simple really. They're not psychic are they. I agree with Keely its probably a communication breakdown.

I don't remember "Narker" being a fine pilLar of society and I have never heard of LOV.

See previous posts re parking, especially the Angry Dad episode. Both on their high horses. The phrase 'Fine pillars of society' is used with a large hint of sarcasm !

If you read through those posts then you will see that the majority of people were actually against AD, he was quite rightly ticketed for parking in a residents bay.

If NCP had given you permission to park free they would have issued you with permits for the day not done it by mouth. You have not a leg to stand on.

Surely they should have a disabled ticket then...........

Sorry hector thats wrong. It goes out on the radio to leave a certain vehicle alone for the day. NCP don't issue permits for the day to allow a vehicle to park for free.

It was undertood that the Rotary Club president put a note on his windscreen explaining his reason why he was parked in the Western car park at County Hall. If he was aware that there was to be a restriction of time, then he would not have bothered to park there. He infact did not receive a ticket..
Also, as permission was given to park at County Hall by ESCC, why did NCP give tickets to others vehicles if they had been properly informed by LDC?
Last year this problem did not occur. why this year? NCP must be getting short on administration costs as well as honest & fair integrity!
