Parking Retrictions

Could someone please explain to me how it can be more difficult to park as a result of the new parking scheme? As I understand it previously there were no bays reserved for residents and therefore anybody could park where they liked when they liked. How did that make it easier to find somewhere to park? I accept the scheme isn't perfect but I find it much easier to find parking near my house (especially during the day as ESCC employees can't take my places.)

to be fair this has been spoken about a thousand times on this forum. why arent people actually doing anything? like smashing up parking meters and stuff like that. start a civil war in lewes rather than just keep moaning. actions speak louder than words...

It seems to me that all you ever talk about on here is parking or immigration. Are the people pof Lewes so narrow minded that they cannot think of any other topics of conversation?
I know how about an immigrant in his free car who can't find a parking space.
Now where do your sympathies lie?

Does anyone out their remember when people actually had jobs that create wealth for the country and there own locality, I do, both men and women actually made items for sale to home markets other countries thus creating wealth, these days the local authorities find it fair game to get some imbecile to wear a uniform, send him out to find some poor hard working person and stuff him for 60/30.
Can anyone tell me is it or is it not illegal to have to have sole control and not be opened up to competition, NCP appear to be at the very root of nearly every village town and city I know of .
My god, what is happening to this sceptred Isle when and ancient town like Lewes becomes run by people who think the only way is to further tax by any means possible ,dont they know the meaning or understand meaning of the word Management.

The problem is that lewes is too afluent. Too many cars per space. What we need is for more asylum seekers to move to Lewes on an exchange basis with Lewes people. As you know, not many asylum seekers have parking problems or cars.

Well some areas might have benefited from the parking scheme but some areas like the High street and Cliffe area have not improved, worsened as now there are less spaces to park in or it costs a fortun or you have to park in someone else's street. Nice. On the whole I'd say it's made the same sort of improvement that could have happened with proper policing of the area in the first place. now it's simply a money making scheme with proper policing, buy non police type officials.
