have the former mayor and her sidekick been chucked out of the Green Party because of their support for building on green field sites without the knowledge of the rest of their party? Or was it their plan for slipping Saint Annes to their cronies on the QT that came unstuck?
Can anyone explain why after a year of ignoring us princess Carter finally made it to Malling and is now shocked every time a sensible resident sends her back across the bridge with her tail between her legs?
Which branch of the greenish party is running this election and can they be trusted not to defect if they get in!?
We all thought the Brighton councillors were potty but this lot is something else!

Green SLUDGE- well said you have said what a lot Bridge residents have been saying for the past year, I have told Joanna Carter she has to cross the river to get to malling, there is also another Green Town Councillor who was elected last year has not been to the Malling area of Bridge Ward she needs to get a map.
I am NOT a member of any Party.

If Green Supporter really believes this is some Lib Dem conspiracy they are utterly clueless about how the town views their party after the last 12 months and they don't deserve to represent us.

Having grown up in Lewes, I know very well where Malling is and have been working on several issues in the past year in Malling (including trying to sort out parking) and lots elsewhere in Bridge.
Don't believe the lib-dem lies on Old Malling Farm: no Green ever voted with the Tories on this one. In fact, we never got to vote! The decision to allocate Old Malling Farm was made by the National Planning Inspectorate. Johnny Denis had been campaigning against the development of this greenfield site since the 1980's. I admit I was working harder on North Street: because (unlike most Lib-Dems) I didn't want all of Lewes to lose 450+ jobs & community facilities, and I wanted to see a better development with more affordable homes and workspace. Now we've lost this, I'm working hard to find where else in town we can provide places for kids to go, low-cost workspace and houses people can afford to live in.
If you've got a problem, perhaps you'd like to contact me directly on [email protected].

Joanna, On 1 July 2015 I photographed a notice by the gate to the Old Malling Farm site reading “Neighbourhood Plan. Could a housing development go here? If all existing woodland is carefully protected!” It was placed there by the NP Steering Committee chaired by Susan Murray, then still a Green.
Neigbours were outraged and there was then a community campaign led by the Lib Dem Team - and the Greens were silent. Given their vocal opposition to the plans to redevelop the brown-field North Street quarter, it is surprising they appeared to tacitly support plans to build on a very sensitive greenfield site.
The Inspector proposed the Local Plan be amended to include OMF. LDC and SDNPA opted to accept it. During the consultation period, the choice was therefore either to object or to say nothing and accept it. ‘Silence implies consent’.
In a statement on 1 October, on Planning Policy, Green-controlled Lewes Town Council made no mention of OMF. At the public meeting on the Neighbourhood Plan on 19/20 November there were strong representations from Malling residents. Silence from the Greens. In the report on the consultation the majority of the c125 objections were on OMF, none from any Green councillor, nor from any well known Green supporters whose names I recognise.
At the Inspector’s Review hearing in December, Daisy Cooper and I spoke, along with Friends of Lewes and CPRE. There was a large turnout of concerned residents. I saw no Greens present or speaking.
Johnny Denis who lives in Ringmer claims he has campaigned "against putting houses on Old Malling Farm since the 1980s". I can find no evidence that he has spoken out on it this time round.

Johnny Denis lives in Glynde, not Ringmer. He chairs Glynde & Beddingham Parish Council.
