I agree,i could have done with a B&Q today in Lewes, tried screw fix and still ended up doing exactly as mentioned above. I drove to Newhaven to get the bits I wanted.

It depends what you want from a DIY shop. Homebase is only small, their store in Hove is much better. I find the lewes branch sells most bits and pieces i need but just can't physically carry the stock of the larger B&Q warehouses.
