Don't forget to go down and see the presentation of the new conurbation thy are planning to build across the river from Tescos. I think its down where Market Lane Garage used to be (near the old fire station)

Don't tell me. It's not right for Lewes, too big, too modern, not enough parking etc etc.
Breaking with tradition, too expensive for Lewes folk, what about flooding? blah blah.

I saw a car parked in a bus stop getting a parking ticket the other day. That was good!
I saw a couple of hoodies getting spoken to by the police. That was good!
I see that Newhaven is going to get all of Brightons rubbish and Peacehaven is going to get all of it's crap. That's good!
I see that BHAFC are going to get a new home at Falmer. Now that is f***ing BRILLIANT!
PS I don't mean half of what i say but you lot are sooo easy to wind up.

I haven't seen the plans so I can't comment. But I disagree with Mick because I think flood defences must be a priority in considering any development at that end of town. Personally I would be against any residential development on the flood plain until flood defences are in place. Secondly, yes Mick, I want any future development to include affordable housing for local people. What exactly do you think is wrong with that? You want every new development to be weekend shag palaces for over paid City barrow boys? "Blah blah" isn't much of an argument.

In my book... Any development in Lewes is a good idea. Put high rise flats on Malling playing fields at the same time.
People need homes, shops need more business, more homes + businesses = more council tax. More council tax means more cash available. More cash available means ESCC heirarchy + councilors can pay themselves even more money.
There!
Everyones happy.

Humour is fine, but Lewes Forum has been taken over by a band of saddoes whose sole aim seems to be showing us how witty they are. Which they aren't.
Unchecked this development will take Lewes over. Do you want this?

What sort of development - can't imagine that it'll be of benefit to most of Lewes - surely this is floodplain land anyway - seem to remember cars at MLG with water at roof height in 2000 - whatever happened to flood defences - perhaps that's what this development is?
