I am certain the Premier Inn will bring in more money from visiting tourists than the rest of the hotels and B&B combined.
the competition will "ad more more beds" as well as add price competition. Thus adding to higher occupancy.
With the additional rooms there will be the abitity of Lewes (and Glyndbourne) to host larger events.
Can you say why it may not be a good thing?

Oh, and I really like Lenny Henry. He seems like a great person, how could you dis him?
"No Lenny Henry", you MAY have legitmate concerns, (but you did't state them).
