More Sussex express

All this bemoaning the Express just isn't fair! If there's a rotary club raffle in a church hall or an am-dram production of Annie they're there like a shot! Wapping could learn a lot...

In fairness, the Parish Pump section is comedy gold. Best of the lot is the Rodmell bit where the clearly bonkers lady writing it just reels off paragraph after paragraph of stuff she's been doing each week. I'd believe it was a cleverly crafted bit of satire if I hadn't been told she's a real person and is actually that mental.

I particularly love the fact that the Cll Donna Edmonds story, which has gone national and international across local and national newspapers, the BBC and internet, was on this forum for at least a week, without the Express picking it up, and I think someone even wrote explicitly suggesting that the Express did.
Epic Fail

Not seen a SxExp reporter at any LTC meeting recently. John Eccles often came to our meetings and reported. So that residents had a view that was not driven by press releases or 'keen' councillors.
The whole LDC elections last week was local news 'gold' yet it was feebly reported.
The problem is that local newspapers do not have the money to spend on journalism. One reporter to cover a large area and little back-up. Shame.

Shame it keeps being fed by Norman Bakers press office every week. A few weeks ago he was nearly on every page. I'd doubt Cllr Edmonds would make the front page tomorrow. The story is far too sensational.

Which is why i don't buy it.
The Sussex Express would have had to do almost nothing. The story was a ready written gift. And not one political type reading Donna's toxic statement commented on it publicly, or got it into the press, did they? Shame on them for letting her 'abhorrent ' beliefs go unchallenged.

I thought I was the only one who enjoyed Rodmell parish pump! Properly crazy lady! What she plans to cook at the weekend, her child has a cold..... nothing about Rodmell itself funny stuff though!

Your comments about Rodmell are a little rude, I'm sure if she saw this, she wouldn't be very happy.
