Very sad to hear of the death of Mr Fairhurst our old music teacher from Ringmer comprehensive. Those of you who went to the school during the 60's, 70's and 80's will remember him well.
He was a likeable bloke if not a little eccentric and i have him to thank for teaching me to play the drums and asking me to be the drummer in the school stage band.
RIP

Oh no...What a shame.I rang him a few weeks back for a chat.
He was a really good teacher.Taught me the cornet and I was in the school band from 1969-1974. We went to Finland on a school swap trip.Had such a good time.
I am very, very sad to hear this.
RIP Michael.

He was my teacher many moons ago & I have fond memories of him, this is very sad news - he was single then but did he ever marry or have a family?
