Heard today that Merlin Milner has retained his place on the town council. He's pretty much the only person to post here who nearly always gets a thumbs up for his openness and honesty, even posting his home phone number for anyone with comments or concerns. Regardless of your political position this is good news for the town!

Why your delay in checking? The results were posted on Saturday evening.

I'm not of the same political hue as Merlin but I'm pleased he's retained his seat, he seems more engaged than some of the other councillors

He does seem nice , you have to wonder about just how hippified his parents must have been to call him Merlin though. I guess there are quite a few middle aged people around burdened with monikers like Stardust and Dragon-magic.

Just a simple question. He seemed so thrilled, yet hadn't been that keen to follow the results closely.
I can be offensive if you want, though. But I didn't see any reason.

Merlin's parents must have been exceptionally young hippies!

Dear Maggot, if you got yourself sterilised you could be of great use healing suppurating wounds. If you continue to flydom you will just buzz around faeces rubbing your hands. In politics prats can do well. Cheerio !

Thanks for the kind words. In actual fact my father wanted to call me Merlin because my grandfather used to read Le Morte d'Arthur (about King Arthur etc.) by Sir Thomas Malory to my father as a child in the 1920s. So my father decided that if he had a son he would call him Merlin. Not very hippy. However every time my name is asked about it reminds me of my dear late father. However my name being an anagram initially passed by my parents!
As for Town Council, please make contact if needed and I will continue to post on this site.

It would be interesting if all councillors were as engaged and informative at Merlin Milner is on Lewes Forum. He's an example to the rest.

I was pleased to see you get back in Merlin and equally disappointed that Matt didn't. Good to have some active people in local politics.
