Does anyone else get ads for mature dating at the side of this forum or is it just me (must point out I'm happily married, have never considered online dating and don't search for milf)?
Why do the ads have photos of such unattractive women? I can't see the sorry specimen with the black rimmed glasses sitting on the edge of the bed in a black negligee attracting many sign ups. Nor the orange shiny one come to that.
Do women forum users receive mature dating ads with equally unattractive men?

Yes, I get the past-it 'ladies' too, and am one (though not like that!). And there's the constant Be Naughty woman irritatingly kicking her heels at the top. Guess it's how the site pays for itself, and the advertisers wouldn't continue if they didn't get customers - so now we can play a game as to which of our regulars are clients ......... :-)

They all look reasonable crumpet, apart from that shabby looking one in black, with the tattoo. They do brighten up the pages. However, I have no intention of dating one.

I suppose we all get them, and some you can delete, and others are impossible to get rid of. Couldn't you find more acceptable ads, Webbo? I can't think anyone but Pervy Pete would be attracted by them, and I don't know if he is the last of the great spenders, so the advertisers won't make much out of them.
On second thoughts, is there a very silent majority out there that actually likes the ads? I am sure Hyacinth Bouquet would say they lower the tone of this otherwise prestigious site.!

I suspect Webbo does not get to choose the ads. They will be supplied by Google, or some such service. Possibly based on the type of cookies it finds on your PC! I have not noticed mature dating ads on here myself. But I did get them on Facebook more or less the day I reached a 'significant' birthday.

Hmm, I think writing about these dating ads only encourages them. Now on the left I've got a mature woman in a red dress and fake tan sitting on a bed clutching a wine glass looking anything but alluring and Never Married Thai "Ladies Online Now" on the right. One's called Pattara Porn and another Siri Porn. Maybe they're sisters.

SHS - What a coincidence!¬ Apparently Rebecca is only 3 miles away from me too. Which, as I am currently in Lancashire as I type this, must means she's either in Ormskirk or St Helens. :-)
She gets about!

It's got even worse now. A woman with a very odd bra called Peem Maliwan wants an online chat and all the Goople ads have become Over 50 Dating,
Search Senior Singles Free, DatingInKent.co.uk (wtf happened to dating in East Sussex?), Why Men Fall In Love and Date Older Women.
It's all becoming too much. I'll be forced to give in soon and click on one.

Screaming J, you've cleverly revealed the whole thing to be a hoax! Now, much more interesting are those cute Asian girls on the right. I clicked on Tina - just to get this website some money for the ads of course. Funny how Vietnamese girls have similar names to English girls.....
Webbo, here's an idea. Could you put pictures of all the Lewes girls up on this website and make it possible to talk to them just be clicking on the picture? You'd need all their telephone numbers of course. You could even add people visiting Lewes, then they wouldn't get bored.

Internet Explorer has a built in ad and tracking cookie blocker. If you're using IE8, Hit the tools button at the top then choose Internet Options. From there, choose the Privacy Tab and then hit Advanced. There's a check box that says "Override automatic cookie handling" which you should check, then on the right hand side, tell it to disallow third-party cookies. If you then from within the Internet Options delete your browsing history under the general tab, you should be more or less ad free.
Internet Explorer 9 does it even better. Click the tools button (Looks like a cog at the top) and choose Safety then click Tracking Protection. You then click on Your Personalised List and hit Enable down the bottom. This blocks all tracking data leaving your computer, speeding up your browsing, keeping your internet activity a little more private and stopping some browsing crashes. You can also individually manage the list if you do want to accept some tracking cookies for example if you wanted to see ads on a certain page or if a blanket block stopped an online app from working for some reason.
I reckon these things should be turned on by default but I guess that of the major browser makers, Microsoft and Google at least make a ton of cash through advertising in their respective search engines so are unlikely to switch it off voluntarily.
