So Lloyds Bank in Lewes is shut for three weeks and telling their faithful customers to go to Seaford or Brighton instead. Is this the best service they can provide for their customers? Could they not have kept some emergency facilities open, possibly at another bank in Lewes? Do they care about small businesses and people who dont want /are unable to use online banking? Am i the only long term customer who is totslly fed up and considering switching banks?

Be grateful it's only for 3 weeks. I bank with Santander and the Lewes branch is closing permanently in October.

They weren't at all bothered when I spoke to them. Seriously inconvenient for me as a small business. Went to Haywards Heath today, but takes much longer. Will try Burgess Hill next time.

Be reasonable - if you were a bank shareholder, and you know tax payers will underwrite your profit stream, why on earth would you care about customers?

I'm a Santander customer and I didn't know they were closing. Must confess that I've never actually used the branch - just the cash machine. It'll be a real pain if that goes too as I use it to pay in cheques etc. Might have to change to another bank (but maybe not Lloyds).

At the Lewes branch I was told that santander users could, after the October deadline had passed, pay in, and take out, CASH at the Post Office !!!!! If you wanted to pay in a CHEQUE, you need to get a paying in slip, (preferably in advance). If the service at the Post Office hasn't improved since the last time I went in there and with the Spectre of their normal Christmas chaos looming, I think I might just be changing my account to the Nationwide, a couple of doors away. Shame really, I opened my first account there in 1974 when it was still the Abbey National. What price customer loyalty eh?

I like the fact it's safe enough to leave windows open and shops don't need to put grills up at night.
