As a regular customer of Hilary Moore, I am shocked to see what has happened at that lovely shop, now called Leweisanna, it seems to be more like an off licence with a few over priced flowers in stock, and none of the old staff are there. I have now found the lovely florist shop at the station Miss Bloomsbury, they have a fantastic range of fresh flowers, gifts and chocolates and very friendly helpful staff. so if your looking for a quality florist i would like to suggest Miss Bloomsbury.

I really like Lewesiana.
I like the relaxed unhurried feeling of space in the shop. It feels like somewhere I could browse for a while.

Both of the above mentioned establishments have gone downhill in the last few weeks.
Coincidentally, I too have opened a new business in the retail area of blooms and flora, and think my boutique is the very best place to purchase smelly plants and attractive petalled things.

However, Lewes Resident, I must say that your posting sounds very much like an advert?
I have seen the station shop and it looks a bit tatty and tired and frankly uninspiring, are you talking about the same place?

The girls at Riverside flowers are the best......

Our business is HM&D Flower Solutions and our outlet will be fabulous, even if I do say so myself.

Agree with Jat - the Riverside florist is friendly and helpful - she even did a special bouquet in my budget when I didn't want to spend 'normal' amount on a regular bouquet!

we always used to go to glynde flowers on school hill for wreaths because they were really good but the one in the riverside is brilliant..I'm not sure I'd use one with the word "solutions"in its title, sounds like a marketing company.

To lewesresident and other poster
Why not just make a suggestion about a good florist, rather than criticising another one, which demeans the town to any visitor to this website and does not seem to portray Lewes as a town of independent business collaborating, but rather small minded folk squabbling while the multiples/Tescos gain ground.
I find it hard to believe that you are not supporting the new owner -why not give them advice rather than slate them here, might be more meaningful.
Wise mothers often say -if you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing at all. But then, this forum would be awfully quiet, wouldn't it?

It sounds to me lewesresident that you have some vested interest or some personal grievance with Lewesianna, so I would take what you say with an awfully large pinch of salt.
It also seems to me that your flower shop near the station is catering for a different audience to Lewesianna as their website shows
