Hello again. I suspect that it will look very similar - if you look at photos of the town 100 years ago, it's remarkably similar. But in terms of demographics, I suspect that it will become even more of a ghetto for those with money, as it will offer way of life that has vanished in many other places. Not quite a gated community, but one that is a far cry from the socially mixed working town it used to be.

As the Earl of Lewes suggested I suspect it will look physically not a lot different , the 47year old Phoenix development wii have weathered and settled in and most of the other residents will have forgotten how it used to look there before . There will be less shops and less banks ( if any ) , more cars ( but less VW s ) less parking AND public transport . A conservative run council , rubbish collected less often , council taxes impossibly high for even less service . And on a positive note the Syrian community will be well integrated into all local life and happy in their homes created in the huge ex county hall building ( once the current occupiers have been moved to smaller premises on an industrial estate in Uckfield ( which by the way look exactly the same but with two more pound shops )

It could look like a War Zone.. Everyone grabbing, grasping for themselves..
There again.. It might look beautiful, clean & tranquil, less the hard working poor having been socially cleansed to an Island all of their own.
Really I hope we would have learnt how to live side by side by then. One can always hope!

Every civilization man has erected has collapsed but for some reason we have persuaded ourselves that this Western civilisation will not. The reason was not nuclear weapons or the failure of capitalism, although these were much discussed in the decline, the reason, just as it was for the eternal City, was an infection of infantilising decadence
During what was a minor perturbation of global markets the triumph of the childlike took a step change as emotional fundamentalism propelled fantasy parties into power across Europe. Every variety of Fascist , Hopey Changey nonsense Party and absurd backwards looking Communist grasped power with catastrophic results .
The British economy swiftly imploded collapsed as Unions combined with dreamers and rabid anarchists to dismantle economic freedom. The “ false democracy” hard left Corbinistas despised was soon replaced by Party reps reporting from the new “citizens democracy” , (meetings no-one bothered to attend ) and the more the evidence of failure mounted the more control the People`s Party took.
Lewes in 2065 , like much of what was once the UK is a grey drizzling land of queues informants and visibly declining technology. Its citizens enjoy state dancing competitions , state cars, state trains, state haircuts and state vouchers ( as all income is taxed there was no further need for money) . At school children are told of a terrible pig sex man who made everyone eat rubbish and, if they don`t do as they are told , will come back. State music is produced by machines and sex is prescribed without the full sanction of the department for reproduction and women.
We are all happy
