So the house on south street is up for sale! Thoughts? My wife likes it, personally it makes my teeth itch. Its in completley the wrong place and looks like a young offenders detension centre. I dont know what the family's situation is, but looks like after all that it was all done to make a fast buck. Thanks.

I doubt they'll make too much, my thoughts are garden is tiny, the house is quite an acquired taste, location sucks, too expensive for what it is. Time will tell though.

I think it's a beautiful piece of contemporary architecture that looks splendidly next to the water and the chalk landscape....fed up of hearing old fashioned traditionalist moaning...

Looks like the ironworks transplanted. I remember the view from the railway coming into Lewes.

They can make as much money as they want from it. It's nothing to do with anyone but them how much they make. Wonder how many people who bought their houses in the 70's will be selling the for 3 grand. Good luck to the owners.

Bought terrace in centre of Lewes in 1974. Cost 11k. Did it up for about 2k. Sold four years later for £31k. Fact. That house worth nearly £500 now ...(smaller one next door on market for 400k this year)
But reckon ludicrous prices have finally come to a halt and with Brexit, will start to go down. Quite a shock after relentless rise for 20 years. Don't think the Corten house will make 1.9 million.

Only a fool would buy it at that price 1) road noise and polluted air from the A road and tunnel 2) no garden and no nearby green space for kids unless you are able to jump the Ouse 3) it's the most ostentatious home in town - newcomers will find a hostile reaction from locals when they admit where they live
Good luck to em
